Sorting through everything a couple times, I think I came up with a decent viewing order, the most work going into resituating the Scorpion King movies before even getting to The Mummy.

Then we got the further recast Scorpion King features that have come out between 2012-2018, the third does a decently solid job getting Mathayus on track toward The Mummy Returns' prologue, the fourth sorta forgets all that by making a stand-alone story where the character is far from a king, finally the fifth feature seems almost more based off Spartacus where we may as well call it The Scorpion Blacksmith. The basics are pretty simple in that the Scorpion King movies are all set before the Mummy trilogy, The Scorpion King 2 is the earliest starting point, plus the Mummy cartoon series is its own ball of wax between the second and third Mummy films. So where does that lead into my viewing order, this is more a chronological tackle at this rather confusing continuity, I say confusing with good reason.

Not too long after The Rock got his own Scorpion King prequel-spinoff and fastforward half a dozen years later, a third Mummy movie came out featuring Jet Li while The Scorpion King got its own prequel that heralded a new line of direct-to-DVD features (the latest released after The Dark Universe's Mummy!).

Ushered in by talented actors like Brendan Frashier, John Hannah, Rachel Weisz, not to mention where Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson got his start in Hollywood, this was a unique world that began with The Mummy and The Mummy Returns. As some may or may not know, before Universal's rebooted Dark Universe involving Tom Cruise's The Mummy, there was another less serious franchise years ago.
